Most people like getting themselves a treat from a high street food outlet every now and again. However, with the ongoing cost of living crisis, a lot of Brits are cutting back on non-essentials.
However, app Too Good To Go is helping a lot of people buy food from their favourite companies at a reduced cost, all while cutting back on food waste. The app connects users with businesses that have too much food that would otherwise be thrown away. Users can buy "surprise bags" of food at cheaper price than it'd normally be. One person who did this was a Costa Coffee customer called Allan who shared his 'surprise bag' haul on Facebook recently.
He revealed that he'd spent £3.50 on the Too Good To Go bag and was pleasantly surprised with what was inside.
In a post, he said: "I thought I would try out a Costa Surprise Bag and I'm really happy with what I acquired."
Allan shared a photo which showed that for £3.50, he'd got two gluten-free mozzarella & pesto sandwiches as well as a portion of mac & cheese, three sausage rolls, a pork sausage bap and a vegan ham & cheeze toastie.
Impressed with his haul, one person tagged their friend and wrote: "Costa's looks good."
However, someone who didn't have quite as good an experience replied: "Better than mine."
The woman, named Jo, revealed that her haul – which she didn't share the price of – consisted of just three items. These well high-protein chicken bites, a chicken shawarma and a blueberry muffin.
The post comes after another Too Good To Go user also recently sang the praises of Greggs' surprise bags.
The woman, named Charlotte, revealed she's paid £2.99 for the bag and was left shocked when she saw what was inside of it, with goodies such as a chicken baguette and steak bake included.
